Get to Know Velda
Velda Schirhart has served in ministry for more than 30 years, teaching the Word of God and ministering healing in churches, conferences, home groups, and other ministry settings throughout the United States and abroad.
Before entering full-time ministry, Velda worked as a medical social worker and Registered Nurse, serving in critical care, management, and hospital supervision. She later served for more than two decades at Whole Life Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy, including as Associate Pastor and Director of Healing Ministries, where she oversaw the Healing Center and Healing Team Ministry.
Today, as an ordained minister, Bible teacher, author, and founder of Light & Life Ministries, Velda is passionate about helping people experience the transforming power of God's Word. Through biblical teaching, healing ministry, and practical application of Scripture, her desire is to see people grow in faith, walk in wholeness, and know Jesus as Lord, Savior, and Healer.
Velda and her husband, Gene, are blessed with three children and five grandchildren, affectionately known as her “grand-darlings.”
